Will Miss World Botswana be crowned the 70th Miss World?

Puerto Rico ready to shine as a premier business and tourism destination


The 70th Miss World Final will take place on 16 March 2022, at The Coca Cola Music Hall in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Miss World Botswana, Palesa Molefe, joins representatives from 40 countries, who are the 15 winners from the fast-track events and 25 shortlisted by the judges. They have arrived in Puerto Rico to compete for the coveted blue crown after the event was postponed in December 2021 due to an outbreak of COVID.

Julia Morley Chairman and CEO: “We are delighted to be heading back to Puerto Rico with 40 of the representatives who have been selected from the original 97 contestants who competed for a place in the final in December last year. This is our 70th anniversary, which marks an historic milestone for us. All of us at Miss World are dedicated to present Puerto Rico the island of enchantment and gateway to Latin America to a huge global audience.”

The highly anticipated Miss World final show will be telecast globally at 20:00 Atlantic Standard Time (AST) to over 100 countries where viewers will watch as the reigning Miss World, Tony-Ann Singh, who was crowned in London, pass the crown to the 70th Miss World in Puerto Rico.

Brock Pierce, President of Percival Venture Capital has been appointed the hosting partner for Miss World 70th Final.

There have been two Miss World’s from Puerto Rico, Lady Wilnelia Forsyth, Miss World 1975, and Stephanie Del Valle, Miss World 2016.

Biography of Miss World Botswana, Palesa Molefe

Palesa is currently working as an Actress, Writer and Producer, and is the founder of Botswana United Artists, an NGO founded to illuminate the value of artists and mental health in society. Her proudest moment was when the agency was finally registered as an NGO. Palesa has a fear of not trying hard enough. ‘The Notebook’ is her favourite film by Jan Sardi and her favourite on line blog is ‘DIY Hacks.’

Palesa’s Beauty with a Purpose project titled “lo ojwa lo sa le metsi” a Setswana phrase that means you develop them while young, is centered around Mental Health. The project focuses on Mental Health in children to ensure the children achieve better in life because of the lessons they are taught at a young age.
