Palesa’s reign ends

First National Bank Botswana (FNBB) has honoured Miss Botswana 2021-2022 Palesa Molefe, with a gift of P50 000 cash in biding her farewell on to her next journey of life.

Molefe shared her final wave and last walk with the FNBB family as the reigning queen this week, before handing over the crown to the incoming Miss Botswana. FNBB Foundation chairperson Myra Sekgororoane said they remain grateful and appreciate Molefe for putting Botswana on the map by representing it well at the Miss World 2021 finals.

Sekgororoane said as an infuential public figure, Molefe is an example to many young people, urging her to continue shining her light. Moreover, it was made mention of the fact that Molefe reigned as Miss Botswana during the most challenging times of covid and was not discouraged but stood up in resilience. “We believe that the end of your reign is not the end but the beginning of new and more exciting opportunities. May you continue to shine brighter and may your light never dim wherever you go. May those that will take over from you also carry that crown with grace and wisdom as you did,” said Segororoane.

As she journeys on to new beginnings, FNBB presented to Molefe a sum of P50 000 as a token of appreciation. The queen thanked the bank for their efforts with the Miss Botswana team. “Entering Miss Botswana has been such a process that has added so much value to me as a young woman and I am coming out of it now. Reality is hitting me. It has been quite a season and I am coming out of it empowered, assertive and more firm than the ground I stand on,” the queen said in gladness.

According to Miss Botswana organiser Benjamin Raletsatsi, the pageant forms part of an ecosystem of beauty which represents Botswana. “One of our mandate was to empower the girl child and the results are here,” Raletsatsi said referring to the queen. He expressed his gratitude to the support of FNBB, noting that he wants to see Miss Botswana platform growing and producing more Palesas.
