- Nov 6th: Race to replace Lt Gen Segokgo heats up
STAFF WRITERS
A year into his Presidency, Advocate Duma Boko will soon be called to make one of the toughest decisions during his tenure - appointing a new Commander at Botswana Defence Force (BDF) to replace Lieutenant General Placid Diratsagae Segokgo, who will step down on 6th November 2025, to mark the end of an illustrious military career spanning four decades in army fatigue.
Lt Gen Segokgo is the only Commander of Defence Forces (CDF) to serve under three Presidents after he was appointed by Lt Gen Ian Khama Seretse Khama back in 2016, and serving through Mokgweetsi Masisi’s one term stint, and a whole year under the incumbent -Boko.
