About Us

Founded in 2012, we are a Sunday broadsheet that focuses on researching, investigating and reporting stories on Business, Sport, Entertainment/ Lifestyle and Politics. We started publishing on Sunday 11th November 2012 as a citizen owned independent newspaper, not aligned to any political formation or group interest.

The Patriot on Sunday is the latest addition to Botswana media industry. Our primary mandate is to offer fair and balanced reporting. We are committed to delivering accurate and impartial news, with information deliberately presented to inform public debates and enable our readership and the general public to make educated and informed choices.

MISSION

To inform, educate and entertain in a timely, accurate and respectful manner with the primary underlying mandate of promoting patriotism through balanced and fair reporting.

VISION

To be the leading Sunday newspaper of note in Botswana, in the region as well as further

afield. We aim to be the newspaper of choice on print, Social media and Online. We aim to have the highest circulation, offering news in English and in the different local and international languages found in our beautiful rainbow countries of the world.

FOCUS

The Patriot on Sunday is a general newspaper with a strong bias on business and

development reporting. It’s focus is to educate and inform Batswana about investment

opportunities in Botswana, the region and international. The paper will also have political,

human interest, lifestyle and sport stories.

Sunday is the day of relaxation, which offers the whole family sufficient time to read. In Botswana, there are seven (7) newspapers during the week. The crowded week means the reader has little time to thoroughly read all the seven titles. Advertisers also do not get value for money because readers tend to rush through the publications.

The Patriot on Sunday will wrap up the week for the reader and advertisers. It will

package the week’s state of the nation into one solid Sunday read. The Patriot on Sunday will be your Sunday companion.

MARKET

As the population is becoming more educated and sophisticated, they demand information on business enterprises and opportunities, hence The Patriot on Sunday will have a slant towards business reporting. The economy has been expanding at a steady pace with a plethora of new companies creating room for an expanded advertising environment. The Patriot on Sunday has identified this unique niche and will utilize it profitably.
