Botswana Patriotic Front (BPF) members are divided over the decision by the Central Committee to contest the Kgalagadi South by-election, instead of yielding and supporting the ruling Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC), with whom they have a ‘working’ arrangement.
In previous by-election scenarios, there had been instances whereby BPF wouldn't field a candidate but rather rallying behind UDC.UDC also did the same, fully campaigning for BPF, and such arrangement caused an upset to the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) at the time.
