The Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) administration has been cautioned against being compromised by former ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) functionaries amidst President Duma Boko’s recycling ofprominent domkrag sympathizers.
In a surprising twist that left tongues wagging, Boko appointed his once political nemesis Advocate Sydney Pilane as a Judge of the Court of Appeal (CoA) this week.Pilane's rise to theplumpost at government enclave has rubbed some UDC affiliated parties and members the wrong way.This emanates from the fact that Pilane, while still Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) leader, gave UDC a tough time fighting back-to-back court battles with UDC ahead of 2019 elections.Pilane’s BMD challenged their expulsion from the UDC, which resulted in the formation of the Alliance for Progressives (AP), who are now part of the UDC coalition
