With the increasing numbers of gender-based violence (GBV) cases in the country, the annual 16 days of activism against GBV has been seen as not just necessary but urgent.

GBV survivor KemoneilweMpinang has expressed the importance of activism against GBV noting that it gives survivors a voice, it raises awareness and brings communities together to confront the reality of gender-based violence."This is a time where we educate, support and demand action of change. It reminds the world that silence is not an option," Mpinang highlighted
