- Union warns BOTEPCO and Government not to ‘police’ teachers under new registration system

The Botswana Teachers Union (BTU) has cautioned that the newly launched Teacher Registration and Licensing System (TRLS) should not be used as a “policing tool” against educators, warning that while the system marks progress in professionalising teaching, it could also create fear if not handled fairly and transparently.
Speaking during the official launch in Gaborone this week, BTU President Agang Gabana said the professionalisation agenda should uplift, not intimidate teachers.
