Malindah: Managing the P90 billion BPOPF kitty

On the eve of the implementation of the new Retirement Funds Act of 2022, which will make it possible for deferred pensioners to deduct 50% of their savings, the Chief Executive Officer of Botswana Public Officers Pension Fund (BPOPF), Moemedi Malindah discusses how the new law will affect them, and other issues with STAFF WRITER DITIRO MOTLHABANE.  

P90.1 billion assets

The 2022 BPOPF Annual Report shows that the Fund enjoyed a 7.8 per cent jump in assets under its management growing from P83.6 billion in 2021 to P90.1 billion in 2022. Growth in Contributions into the Fund, on the other hand, remained low at 1.6% over the financial year.
