Permanent Secretary in Ministry of Entrepreneurship, Joel Ramaphoi, has said his ministry is keen to ensure robust transformation of the Small Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) locally.
He said it is for this reason that government is fully supporting the ATISA Supplier Development Programme that focuses on SMMEs and driven by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
According to Ramaphoi, the ministry of entrepreneurship will create conducive environment for SMMEs, emphasizing that the sector has the potential to spur economic growth.
“Our local SMMEs have shown the potential and resilience to be the engine of the economy as evidenced by their growth from ATISA SDP. The SMME sector has the potential to revitalise the private sector to enable the economy to fully achieve the dream of being export-led,” he said.
