BDP Central Committee in emergency meeting

The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) Central Committee has been called for an emergency meeting regarding the developments that happened in Serowe on Sunday and Monday.

After the unsanctioned meeting called by followers of Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi who is challenging President Mokgweetsi Masisi for presidency, the party leadership is expected to take action against them this evening.

Former President Ian Khama, Venson-Moitoi , Samson Moyo Guma and Roseline Pansirah Matshome attacked President Masisiat the meeting.

When the party leadership was still smarting from the Sunday onslaught, councilors in Serowe passed a motion of no confidence against Mpho Kooreme and he was subsequently removed as the Serowe Administration Authority Council Chairperson. He has been accused of supporting President Masisi.
