The original conveners of opposition parties’ negotiation process which gave birth to the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) coalition have shipped out to back a fledgling alliance between Botswana Congress Party (BCP) and the Alliance for Progressives (AP).
Lebang Mpotokwane and Emang Maphanyane have already shown face at what is shaping up as the second coalition in the theatre of Botswana’s opposition politics. Mpotokwane told this publication in an interview this week that they were indeed honouring the invitation by the two parties to help construct a fresh alliance.
