Barclays opens another branch in Maun

Barclays Bank has opened another branch in Maun. The new branch is located in front of Maun International Airport.

The Managing Director of the bank, Keabetswe Pheko-Moshagane hailed the step as the beginning of a fresh phase in the development of the region, an expansion of facilities and intensification of efforts to render financial services to the communities in the region.

“We are in the right direction in our efforts and diversity as we formulate financial solutions that address the needs of all our customers,” she said.

Pheko-Moshagane said they have taken customer feedback into considerations in coming up with solutions they offer, adding that their commitment is re-enforced by the opening of this office, to better engage with their customers and shareholders.

She also pointed that similarly, Maun is the centre and the gateway to their tourism jewels and hence it is a very important location.

She updated the audience on the bank’s transition from Barclays to Absa, saying the separation of their operations from Barclays is a large and complex programme, executed gradually across system, platforms, policies, procedures and many aspects of the business. Pheko-Moshagane said the programme is 69% complete and progressing well given that 184 of the 266 projects have been successfully delivered, two years into the three-year programme.

“The separation process had been the catalyst for a significant strategic and cultural reset of our organization,” she affirmed.
