TeamResuscitation

Giveus Kgomotso Digwere

This communique serves to inform our well wishers, supporters and the silent majority that as #TeamResuscitation we have resolved to step out from APYPL elective congress. We will not legitimize a soiled system, hence we unanimously are not contesting in this elections. We saw it fit to exercise our democratic right to protest.

This was a hard decision to make, but after thorough consultations we decided to step out of this race. We expressed our utmost displeasure and disappointment on the process of this elective congress from time immemorial but our words landed on deaf ears. We wrote a bouquet of letters to the leadership pointing at the discrepancies in the  system and were barely listened to.

We would like to make it categorically clear that we understand the importance of democracy and transparency as enshrined in our party policies and we will like to promote that. But under the current situation; we believe there is no ounce of democracy and transparency is wanting thus our decision to step out of the race. We cannot condone a clear rot in the system and we believe being party to the broken process is legitimatizing it. We are aware that there will never be any fairness in these elections.

If we condone, bless and legitimize this process, we will wail to “le ne le le bokgakala bo kae fa dilo di senyega” question. Like Pontus Pilate, “re tlhapa diatla”.

We also want to emphasise that we are still members of Alliance for Progressives (in good standing), and this party is in our hearts.  We will work for our party and grow it. Furthermore , we would like to urge all to go back to structures and build this great movement. Let us not loose heart!

Thank you
