VACANCY – ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY
Gobhoza Legal Practice invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Associate Attorney.
Key Responsibilities
* Draft pleadings, commercial agreements, legal opinions, correspondence and other legal documents.
* Appear before the courts and attend to all aspects of civil litigation.
* Conduct legal research and prepare written legal opinions on complex and novel questions of law.
* Advise on legal issues arising from emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, data protection and privacy legislation.
* Design and deliver legal training and capacity-building workshops for corporate and public-sector clients.
* Prepare legal publications, client alerts and contribute to the firms digital presence.
* Conduct due diligence and provide transactional legal support where required.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a reputable university.
* Admitted Attorney, Notary Public and Conveyancer of the High Court.
* A minimum of three (3) years’ post-graduation experience.
* Demonstrated experience in civil litigation and commercial legal practice.
* Proven experience drafting complex draft legal opinions, pleadings and commercial agreements.
* Sound knowledge of intellectual property law, intellectual property management strategies and related commercial transactions.
* Sound knowledge of data protection law, technology law and regulatory compliance.
* Strong legal research, analytical and drafting skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The Following Will Be an Added Advantage
* Professional certifications in Intellectual Property, Data Protection, Privacy or Artificial Intelligence from recognised institutions.
* Experience designing and delivering legal training programmes or seminars for corporate or public sector clients.
* Experience advising financial institutions, corporate clients or public sector entities.
