Gospel poet Kgomotsego Otukile is this week hosting a poetic show, Truth in Rhythms and Rhymes. Ms.Kay as commonly known, will be recording her first Extended Play (EP) live. 28 year old Otukile from Malaka village in Tswapong, is a recognised singer, author and a rapper alongside being a poet. The event is a first of its kind and will be taking place on Saturday 18th June at Open Baptist Church in Maruapula starting at 3pm.
“The show features poetry, rap and singing. It has always been my dream to host such an event which fosters the talents and gifts of local artists, especially poets,”Otukile said. She emphasised that Truth in Rhythms and Rhymes is the beginning of a great move and platform for artists to share their stories in the best way they can. “In this particular show, the audience should expect food for the soul, in the form of healing, applause and exhortation through various presentations,”Otukile shared. She will be collaborating with other artists such as Chris Willz, France Mothusi, Holy M’rapper, Kagiso Yaone, Tlotlo Maxson and many more. The show’s main speaker who will be there to encourage other artists in spoken word will be Poeticblood, an award winning poet.
