BSE celebrates women on IWD – March 8 

The Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE), in conjunction with CFA South Africa, will host the March 2023 Opening Ceremony in commemoration of International Women’s Day on 8th March 2023 from 0900hrs at the BSE offices in Fairgrounds under the theme, “DigitAll: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality”.

During this Ceremony, the BSE, like all the stock exchanges around the world, will be acknowledging the important role that women play in society and celebrating their contributions by facilitating an engaging panel discussion to deliberate on this year’s theme by unpacking how innovation & technology can promote gender equality in our society today. This theme was conceptualized on the basis that the United Nations wants to celebrate women and girls who are championing the advancement of transformative technology and digital education.

Panelists will include; Gosmartvalue, Founder & Managing Director, Ms. Sethebe Manake; Seipone AI, Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Nomsa Makgabenyana; and Eskom Pension and Provident Fund, Assistant Portfolio Manager, Ms. Lungile Luvuno, CFA

The programme will start at 0900hrs with the bell ringing set to take place at 0955hrs when the market opens. In attendance will be key figures in society who advocate for gender equality (predominately women), capital market experts, entrepreneurs, members of the media and members of the public.
