Bone wins the Bake Off Competition

The Cookie Shop BW hosted their first annual baking competition entitled The Bake Off in Gaborone, Blue Cypress Bakery this past Saturday December 7, 2019. Bone Masilonyane became the overall winner, walking away with P 5 000 and a six months Baking Course scholarship from Gaborone College of Culinary Arts together with Chipkins Puratos hampers .

This is a baking competition that seeks to promote amateur bakers and home bakers who wish to turn their passion into business.  The main purpose of the Bake off is to uplift home-bakers thereby making them entrepreneurs who will be able to feed their families and create employment.

The Bake Off is a family set up event, as both the kids and parents will have something to indulge in/ do together as a form of bonding quality time.

The event was supported by Chipkins Puratos, an experienced company in the bakery industry as one of the sponsors. Chipkins Puratos is an international group offering a full range of innovative products, raw materials and application expertise to the bakery, patisserie and chocolate sectors. Headquartered in Brussels (Belgium), the company was founded in 1919. Their products and services are available in over 100 countries around the world and, in many cases, are produced by a network of local subsidiaries.

The Cookie Shop BW is a locally owned brand ran by an ambitious female Motswana, Wame Motshwari who is the event organiser, It is a mobile business that produces yummy and delicious baked goods for a broad market ranging from individuals/public and private sector, and looks to supply restaurants, coffee shops, petrol stations, and super markets.

This event aims to produce a winner that will be able to continue to build themselves and shine. The contestants were carefully selected basing on the potential and ambition to become the next big local brand.

Other prizes went to Mysie Badenhorst who walked away with P4000 and a Chipkins Puratos hamper as number two and last but not least, our third prize went to Olorato Rati Mogotsi who got P1000 and a Chipkins Puratos hamper.
